OpenAI's Frontier platform marks a strategic shift toward collaborative AI development. The system enables autonomous agents to handle coding, file management, and tool integration without human intervention. "We're not building everything ourselves," stated Applications CEO Fidji Simo, emphasizing partnerships with Google, Microsoft, and Anthropic.

The platform integrates with existing enterprise infrastructure—ticketing systems, databases, internal apps—while maintaining compatibility with ChatGPT Enterprise. Unlike rigid solutions, Frontier supports both OpenAI-developed and custom third-party agents, addressing what Simo calls "the missing piece" in business AI adoption.
